Advocating for Port Authorities

Possibly the greatest challenge to Port Authorities is the limited knowledge of their existence and capabilities. On June 9, 2026, Port Authorities from across Ohio gathered at the Capitol to meet with legislators. Our thanks to the legislators and staff who met with our group consisting of the Columbus-Franklin County Finance Authority and the Union County-Marysville Port Authority.

CFCFA President Patty Huddle shared, “It’s an opportunity for them to better know who we are and what we do. And who to call when a constituent may need additional financing for their business or real estate development.”

Pictured at the event are, from left: Joseph Geraghty, Executive Director of the Dayton Montgomery County Port Authority, Kaitlyn Geiger of CFCFA, Laura Brunner, President & CEO of The Port in Cincinnati, Inge Witt from Union County-Marysville Economic Development, CFCFA President Patty Huddle, and CFCFA Vice President Rose Roman. We look forward to future gatherings!
