Attorney Christian Gonzalez Joins CFFA Board of Directors

At the January 13, 2022, meeting of the CFFA Board of Directors, Christian Gonzalez, Partner and board member at Dinsmore & Shohl LLP, was welcomed by fellow directors and staff to the Board. He fills one of the four City of Columbus-appointed seats and will serve a four-year term. 

Board members are carefully selected based on their professional expertise and play the important role of advising staff and approving CFFA-supported projects and policy decisions. Their varied experience influences activities to advance the organization’s mission to stimulate development, investment and job retention and creation in Columbus and Franklin County. 

Christian brings a wealth of experience in fields related to CFFA’s work, including corporate banking, capital formation, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance matters. He also serves on his own firm’s board, where among other duties, he is a resource for navigating the impact of Dodd-Frank Act regulations on the firm’s financial sector clients.

“We’re thrilled Christian was appointed by the City of Columbus to join the board,” said Finance Authority President Jean Carter Ryan. “We have no doubt he’ll bring a nuanced perspective to our bond financing and other funding programs. We look forward to working with him.”

Christian is a cum laude graduate of the New York Law School and has a B.S. in Finance from Rutgers University. He was named a Top Lawyer in Columbus CEO magazine, included in the 2020 Business First 40 Under 40 list, and named among the Top Latino Lawyers of 2019 by Latino Leader Magazine.

“I’m excited for this opportunity to work with board management and to continue executing the board’s strategic plan,” Gonzalez said. “The Authority does a lot in the region to make sure Columbus is among the nation’s foremost cities, and I’m glad to be a part of that.”

Raised in New Jersey, Christian lives in Old Towne East with his wife, Megan and two sons, Franklin and Julian.
