“This organization plays an important role in the economic development success of our community.  I’ve enjoyed my time as Board Chair and look forward to the Finance Authority’s continued growth and community impact,” Alutto said.

Frank Capella

The Finance Authority is grateful to benefit from Capella’s years of experience in banking and private equity which bring keen insight to discussions around economic and community development funding. Related to his new role, Capella remarked, “We’ve built an incredibly strong and nimble organization over the years. We’re committed to continuing to serve as an instrument that can help break down barriers to investment and prosperity in Franklin County and beyond.”

Created in 2006, the Finance Authority provides a variety of flexible and creative economic development financing solutions. Since its formation by the Franklin County Commissioners and the City of Columbus, the Finance Authority has facilitated over $2 billion of financing for real estate development, energy efficiency and non-profit investments.   During Dr. Alutto’s time as Board Chair, over $847 million in financing was approved for projects such as Grandview Crossing, White Castle, Bridge Park, and Founders Park.

Project Spotlight – Grandview Crossing

The Columbus-Franklin County Finance Authority supported Grandview Crossing developed by Thrive Companies with a lease and infrastructure financing.  Grandview Crossing is a 55-acre mixed-use development on the former Dublin Road Landfill. Portions of the site are located in the City of Columbus and Grandview Heights. The site is in the process of being transformed from the former blighted landfill to premium offices with adjacent structured parking, a hotel, apartments and retail.
